It is possible to set the default value as well as the pre-defined values for the free fields which you can use when creating or maintaining the master data. With this function, you do not need to enter the free field values manually every time you create a master data.
The information in this document is applicable to product update 407 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Select the table for which you want to configure the free field values. Depending on your selection, the free fields available in each table will be displayed.
This column displays the descriptions of the free fields. You can customize the free field descriptions. For more information, see Creating and changing free field descriptions.
This column displays the column names of the free fields.
Type the default values for the free fields.The default values must be based on the permitted length and scale for different data types of the free fields, if applicable. For more information on the data types and their permitted length and scale, see Release 380: Configure free field format for project and account master data. For the boolean data type, you can set the default value to True or False as these free fields are check boxes. For example, if you select True as the default value, the check box will be selected by default when you create the master data.
Click the check boxes in this column to set the predefined values for the free fields.
Click this to save the free fields configurations.
Click this to exit.
