Introduction

Crystal Reports XI has better and newer features. The Crystal Reports 8.5 shall be converted to Crystal Reports XI before you can continue using the reports in Exact Globe product update 395.

Prerequisites

The following are prerequisites that you need to have before you can do a conversion.

1. Back-up the relevant report(s) that you want to convert.
2. Install Crystal Reports XI.

To convert Crystal Reports 8.5 to Crystal Reports XI:

1. Go to the BIN folder in the installation directory of Exact Globe and double click ChangeDriver.exe. For example, go to C:\Program Files\Exact Software\BIN. The RPT Conversion screen will then be displayed.
   
   
2. At Select RPT, click  to browse the Exact Globe installation directory and select the RPT sub-directory. For example C:\Program Files\Exact Software\RPT followed by a report that you want to convert. In this example, ATLohnBuchJournal.rpt is selected.
   
    
3. At Select Destination, click  to browse and select the folder where the converted file will be stored. In this example, it is D:\CRW11\fixrpt.
   
   
4. Then, click Convert. If successful, the converted crystal report will be stored at D:\CRW11\fixrpt.  
   
    

To convert batches of Crystal Reports 8.5 to Crystal Reports XI:

1. Create a new directory and copy the Crystal Reports 8.5 into this new directory. For example C:\CR8.5.
2. Go to the BIN folder in the installation directory of Exact Globe and double click BatchConversion.exe. For example, go to C:\Program Files\Exact Software\BIN. The RPT Batch Conversion screen will then be displayed. 
   
    
3. At Select RPT Folder, click  to browse the newly created directory,  C:\CR8.5.  
   
    
4. At Select Destination, click  to browse and select the folder where the converted files will be stored. In this example, it is D:\CRW11\fixrpt.
   
    
   
5. Then, click Convert. If successful, the converted crystal reports will be stored at D:\CRW11\fixrpt.  
   
    

To verify converted Crystal Reports:

1. Go to Start\All Programs\BusinessObjects XI Release 2\Crystal Reports and click Crystal Reports XI Release 2. Alternatively, go to Start\All programs and click Crystal Reports XI Release 2.
   
   
2. The Crystal Reports – [Start Page] will be displayed. Click File and then click Open.
   
   
3. The Open screen will then be displayed. Select the report that you converted and click Open or double-click the report. In this case the report is ATLohnBuchJournal.rpt.
   
   
4. The report will then be opened and displayed as below.
