Product Update 403: Electronic submissions of Intrastat reports supported (Irish legislation)

Intrastat is a system used to collect the statistics on the trading of goods among the European Union (EU) countries. From the statistics, the respective governments formulate trade policies and plan the infrastructure needs. In Ireland, it is now possible to submit your XML generated Intrastat report electronically via the Ireland Revenue Online-Service (ROS). For more information, see http://www.revenue.ie/en/index.html.

The following changes have been implemented for the Irish legislation:

XML button

  • A new button, XML, has been added in the Intrastat screen at Invoice à Statistics à Intrastat. When you click the XML button, the following screen is displayed:

In the INTRASTAT data screen, you can generate reports:

  • quarterly
  • monthly
  • based on date or reporting date
  • based on calendar date selected
  • based on goods arriving from other member states, and
  • based on goods dispatched to other member states.

You can define a directory where the generated XML file will reside at Directory. The Directory field is mandatory. If you have not defined a directory, then the message “May not be blank” is displayed when you tab through the field or click the Generate button in the INTRASTAT data screen.

  • When you click the Generate button, one of the following three messages will be displayed, depending on the following scenarios. See the sample screens displayed:

  • The following new standard codes have been created to allow users to select the relevant standard code for their Intrastat reports.
