Release 380: New section in 'Payroll data': 'Minimum salary alert' (Middle East legislation)

SE17AE Payroll Middle East

Menu path: Payroll/Human resources/Maintain/Payroll tab/Payroll data

Background

Prior to release 380, there is a report for the user to compare Deduction against salary or Net salary against salary or Net salary against a defined amount in order to determine the employees with total deduction exceeds certain percentage or net salary falls below a critical level. Based on latest requirement from Middle East, this comparison function is now implemented in payroll process instead of just a report.

What has been changed

In order to implement Minimum salary alert in payroll process, new section: Minimum salary alert is now added in Payroll data. This section allows user to define the checking criteria on the salary of resources during payroll process. There are three checking criteria: Deduction against salary, Net pay against salary and Minimum salary. The details as following:

  • Deduction against salary
By selecting this option, system will check the deduction made against the Base salary during payroll calculation. The total deduction is calculated based on the sum of component type financial, deduction, reservation and taxes paid by the employee. User has the option to include or exclude contributions made by the employee. When the 'Include contributions' check box is checked, the deduction and reservation component will be included in the calculation.

    Resource A

Settings for Minimum salary alert at Payroll data [Check = Deduction against salary; Ratio= Greater than or equal to; Percentage = 50%; Include contribution]
    1. Base salary = 2000
    2. Net deduction = 1000
    3. Pension 9% paid by employee = 180

Ratio = (1180/2000) x 100 = 59% greater than 50%. Therefore, during payroll calculation, Minimum salary alert report will be printed and no calculation will be done for this resource.

  • Net pay against salary
By selecting this option, system will check the net pay against the Base salary during payroll calculation. User can select to view the records based on the ratio selection and % entered.

    Resource B

Settings for Minimum salary alert at Payroll data [Check = Net pay against salary; Ratio= Less than or equal to; Percentage = 50%]
    1. Base salary = 2000
    2. Net deduction = 1000
    3. Pension 9% paid by employee = 180
    4. Net salary = 820

Ratio = (820/2000) x 100 = 41% less than 50%. Therefore, during payroll calculation, Minimum salary alert report will be printed and no calculation will be done for this resource.

  • Minimum salary
By selecting this option, system will check the net pay against the value entered by the user during payroll calculation. For example:

    Resource C

Settings for Minimum salary alert at Payroll data [Check = Minimum salary; Ratio= Less than or equal to; Amount = 1000]
    1. Base salary = 2000
    2. Net deduction = 1000
    3. Pension 9% paid by employee = 180
    4. Net salary = 820

Net salary 820 is less than 1000. Therefore, during payroll calculation, Minimum salary alert report will be printed and no calculation will be done for this resource.
