From February 7, 2012 onwards, you will be able to export XML files with a new format. This is only applicable for the Belgium legislation.
The changes are as follows:
The following fields have been added in the list of options for Other at Contact person in the Finance / VAT / Statistics / VAT / VAT return screen:
All the fields will be mandatory except Position if the Export directory INTERVAT field is defined.
The new XML file format will contain information of the contact persons, and you can select the type of contact person information to be exported in the VAT , such as company contact person, contact person, and other information. If the Company contact person option at Contact person is selected, the information of the contact person will be retrieved from the Company data settings screen (at System à General à Settings à Company data settings) when the XML file is exported.
However, if the Contact person option is selected at Contact person, the Telephone and E-mail of the contact person will be retrieved from the people maintenance screen (at System à HR & Security à People, click New, under the General tab in the Employment section), whereas the Name, Street, Postcode, City, and Country code will be retrieved from the Company data settings screen. If the Other option at Contact person is selected, the information of the contact person will be retrieved from the Finance / VAT / Statistics / VAT / VAT return screen.
If the mandatory fields in the Finance / VAT / Statistics / VAT / VAT return screen are not defined when generating the VAT return, an error message will be displayed.

Note: This functionality does not apply to the Internal option selected in the Finance / VAT / Statistics / VAT / VAT return screen at Report under the VAT return section.

If you are generating the XML file for February 7, 2012 onwards at Finance à VAT / Statistics à VAT à EU sales list, the following XML file format will be used. Otherwise, the old XML file format will be used.
Information of the representative, such as Representative ID, VAT number, Name, Street, Postcode, City, and Country code will be retrieved from the Company data settings screen (at System à General à Settings à Company data settings). The Telephone and E-mail data will be retrieved from the people maintenance screen (at System à HR & Security à People, click New, under the General tab in the Employment section).
