Product Update 417: New version of Crystal Reports supported

Exact Globe Next uses Crystal Reports Runtime to display various reports. In order to support the latest operating systems such as Windows 10, product update 417 will use the new version Crystal Reports 2016.

During the update to product update 417, the latest Crystal Reports Runtime version will automatically be downloaded and installed. The previous Crystal Reports Runtime version will automatically be uninstalled.

After the update, the new Crystal Reports Runtime component Exact CR2016 Runtime will be displayed in the Windows Control Panel.

This is also applicable to Exact Globe Next with extended functionality.

Note: When Exact Globe Next is installed via the MSI installer, or when you are working with Exact Globe Next with extended functionality, Crystal Reports Runtime will not be installed during the update. However, it will be installed when you start Exact Globe Next for the first time after performing the update.

Users with E-Report

When you have a valid license agreement for the E-Report module, you can download the latest version of Crystal Reports via the installation set available on the Exact customer portal. E-Report offers you the possibility to create your own reports and edit the existing reports.

It is still possible to keep using Crystal Reports 2013 to create or edit your reports. It is not necessary to upgrade immediately. You can perform the upgrade to Crystal Reports 2016 at a time that suits you. For more information, see How-to: Installing Crystal Reports 2016.

Keep in mind that when upgrading to Crystal Reports 2016, you do not have to convert or remap your existing reports, but it is advised to check your custom reports after the upgrade.
