➔ System ➔ Update license from customer portal
This screen allows you to update the demo license (demo company) from the customer portal whereby all the updated licenses via the physical file will be removed. The company that has been created with the demo license will have a grace period in terms of usage. Once the grace period has ended, the demo company cannot be used. However, to continue using the demo company, the demo company must be updated with valid customer credentials (which can be obtained from Exact) whereby the demo company will be converted to a normal company.
If the license is updated at ➔ System ➔ Update Exact Globe Next license, the message “Update license. You are using a demo license. Your license can be downloaded from the customer portal” will be displayed if you are accessing the update license via the physical file.
The options for updating the license via the customer portal will be available based on the following conditions:
The information in this document is applicable to product update 421 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Type the domain to download the license from the customer portal.
Type the user name to download the license from the customer portal.
Type the password to download the license from the customer portal.
Click this to download the license from the customer portal.
Note: This button is enabled only if the Domain, Username, and Password fields are defined.
Click this to exit.
The following error messages will be displayed based on the license conditions:
“Your license has expired. This database was created with a license download using Exact reseller or Exact employee credentials. The license is valid for a limited period of time and has now expired. The license was valid from <from date> until <to date>. In order to use the database, a new license should be applied using your own customer credentials.”
Click Download from customer portal to download the license from the customer portal, or Select from your files to select the license from a file in your computer.
“Your license has expired. The demo period for this license has ended. To access the company you need to apply your own Exact license.”
Click Download from customer portal to download the license from the customer portal.
Only the customers with a valid license can update the demo company.
“You are using a demo license. Update license is only available using customer credentials.”
“Your license has expired. The license was valid from <from date> until <to date>. Request a license update.”
“Update license for demo license is not possible using this credential or contract. In case of questions, please contact the Exact support department or your Exact Partner.”
