How to: Working with Exact Globe and Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit

Introduction

Exact Globe supports Microsoft Office 2010 32-bit but it does not work with Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit. To ensure that Exact Globe and Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit can work on the same workstation, you have to disable the Exact Globe Add-in. This will be done automatically when you install Exact Globe on a workstation where Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit is already installed. However, an error message will be displayed if you export data from Exact Globe to Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit. Thus, you cannot export data from Exact Globe to Microsoft Excel 2010 64-bit.

If you have already installed Exact Globe before installing Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit or exported data from Exact Globe to Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit, you have to perform the following steps to prevent the error messages from being displayed.

How do I manually disable Exact Globe Add-in in Microsoft Excel 2010 64-bit?

1. Open Microsoft Excel.
2. Click File on the menu, and then click Options on the left panel.
3. Click Add-Ins on the left panel and click Go.
4. Clear the Exact Globe check box, and then click OK.
5. An error message will be displayed. Click OK to close the displayed message.
6. Exit the Microsoft Excel program. Remove the EG2000.xla file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Library\. 

Note: After you have completed the steps above, Exact Globe and Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit will be able to work as long as you do not export data from or update Exact Globe.
