Exact Synergy Enterprise and Exact Globe use Microsoft SQL Server for managing the database of the Company. Depending on the product update of Exact Globe/Exact Synergy Enterprise different versions of Microsoft SQL Server can be used.
As of product update 413 of Exact Globe and product update 258 of Exact Synergy Enterprise Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is no longer supported and you have to upgrade your Microsoft SQL Server. It is important that this is done before updating to product update 413 or product update 258.
When performing an update of Exact Globe or Exact Synergy Enterprise a warning is displayed that Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is no longer supported. When opening the Exact Globe company after updating a check is performed on the installed Microsoft SQL Server version. When Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is installed it is not possible to open the company. Therefore make sure to upgrade to a newer Microsoft SQL Server version before installing Product update 413 or product update 258.
If you participate in the Microsoft Software Assurance program, you are entitled to upgrade your Microsoft SQL Server free of charge. Please check Microsoft website for more information. If you use the Express edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 you can download the Express Edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher.
Important: Keep in mind to create backups of your companies/databases before performing an update.
