Scheduling import data into Exact Globe 2003 using Windows Scheduler

 

  1. Make sure the file ASIMPORT.EXE is in the Exact Software/bin directory.
  2. Create the ASIMPORT.EXE statement.
    1. The syntax of the ASIMPORT.EXE statement:

 

ASIMPORT.EXE -rsqlservername -Ddatabasename -u -~ I -URLhttps://eportal.exact.nl -Tdebtors -OPT18 –Oauto

 

 

    1. Explanation of the syntax:

-r

Servername of SQL server containing Exact Globe 2000 database

-D

Logical SQL Database name of Exact Globe 2000 database

-u -~

System parameters

I

I for importing data into Globe / E for exporting data out of Globe

-URL

Url of e-Synergy environment e.g. http://Servername/Synergy

-T

Entity that needs to be exported or imported e.g. Debtors, Creditors, Resources etc.

-OPT18

Download options to include free fields, images or notes. The number should be
the sum of the following numbers: 16 for Free Fields, 4 for Images and 2 for Notes.
In this case 'Notes & Free Fields' are selected.

-OAuto

To run 'automatically' without messages popping up: no user action is required.

 

 

c.       Test the syntax in DOS Prompt first to make sure it works. Example of an ASIMPORT.EXE statement tested: C:\Program Files\Exact Software\bin>asimport.exe -rcere31125-1 -D720 -u -~ I -URLc:\work\GLENTRIES.csv -TGLENTRIES –OAuto

d.       Verify that the data has been imported correctly into EG2003.

 

  1. To put the ASIMPORT.EXE statement you have created in a scheduler, go to Control Panel and double-click on the Schedules Task icon .

 

 

  1. Create a new Schedule Task by clicking on .

    

 

  1. In the Scheduled Task Wizard, click ‘Next’ to arrive to the screen below. Click on ‘Browse’ .

 

 

  1. Go to the Exact Software/bin directory, select the AsImport.exe file.

 

 

  1. Enter the name for this task. Select the frequency to perform this task and click ‘Next’.

 

 

  1. Select the time and day for this task to start and click ‘Next’.

 

    

 

  1. Enter the name and password of the user.

 

   

 

  1. Click on the checkbox to open advanced properties for this task.

 

 

  1. In the task screen, append the syntax, which you have tested earlier as shown below.

 

 

The system will generate the import data into EG 2003 as scheduled.
