This document describes the automatic advice line switch, as available in E-WMS from release 409 and patched to release 408.
When picking a sales order, or production materials, or a replenishment order, it was already possible to divert from the generated picking advice. You could pick from another location, or another batch, or another SKU.
Whether diverting from the picking advice (location, S/B number or SKU number) is allowed, depends on the scanner setting 'Advice mandatory', for each process.
When in previous releases diverting from the advice, and picking another batch or SKU number, then E-WMS did not select another advice line containing that batch or SKU number. You just picked batchB for the advice line for batchA, and the advice line for batchB would still be open to be picked later. This could lead to unclear situations or 'stock reserved' messages.
From release 409 (and also made available in 408), E-WMS will switch to another advice line, when diverting from the advice, under following circumstances:
