Using hotkeys

Menu path

Settings➔ Preferences

Introduction

Hotkeys provide an optional way of navigating menu paths in Exact Globe+ without using the mouse. With hotkeys, you can type the letters of a menu path to go to the desired screen.

Each module and its related applications and components are identified by a specific letter when the hotkeys are activated. Using your keyboard, you can go to any menu path. For example, to go to Finance ➔ Entries ➔ General journal, you can type “FBG” to go to the menu path directly. The letter “F” is the hotkey for Finance, “B” for Entries, and “G” for General journal respectively. The hotkeys for each menu path are displayed on the menu bar. In the screen of the stated menu bar, click the Exit button to return to the main menu and type any of the hotkeys to go to another menu path of your choice.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 421 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not applicable.

How do I activate the hotkeys?

  1. In the main screen of Exact Globe+, click Settings, and then click Preferences.
  2. Select the Display hotkeys check box under the Hotkeys section.
  3. The hotkeys for each module and its related applications will be displayed automatically in the screen.
  4. Type the letters for any of the hotkeys to go to the required path.
  5. To deactivate the hotkeys, go back to steps 1 and 2. The check mark will be removed to indicate that the hotkeys have been deactivated.
