Waste is the additional result of a manufacturing process, which does not contribute to the desired end product. Waste items are defined in the Bills of Materials (BOM) by specifying the waste percentage in the “Waste %” column for each component at Manufacturing ➔ Setup ➔ BOM.
You can view information on the planned and actual waste for each production order at Manufacturing ➔ Statistics ➔ Waste. The production waste overview displays key data for a production order such as the planned and actual quantity, and the planned and actual amount. You can use the production waste overview to summarize the amount of waste for each production order by comparing the planned and actual waste quantities and amounts.
Click Display to view the production orders. After clicking Display, the Waste screen will be displayed:
This column displays the production order number.
This column displays the description of the production order.
This displays the item code of the waste item in the production order.
This column displays the description of the waste item.
This column indicates if the production order has already been printed.
This column displays the end date of the production order.
This column displays the planned units of waste. The quantity is calculated by multiplying the quantity in the material lines that have been defined as waste in the BOM of the finished product by the number of units of the finished product in the production order.
This column displays the actual units of waste. The actual units are displayed in accordance with the units of waste that result from production.
This column displays the budgeted costs for waste. These costs are calculated by multiplying the quantity in the material lines that have been defined as waste in the BOM of the finished product by the cost price of the waste. The result is then multiplied by the units of finished product as in the production order.
This column displays the actual costs for waste. These costs are calculated by multiplying the units of waste that result from production by the cost price of the waste.
