Processing returned items for Return to Merchant Authorization (RMA) orders

Introduction

You can see the following screen by clicking Return at the RMA order process flow in the RMA orders screen (go to Order/Entries/RMA orders, and then click Open or New). This screen allows you to record the returns of the items in the RMA orders.

Note: You can see this screen only if the RMA order is authorized, unless authorization is not required.

Description

Note: It is possible that not all columns in this example are displayed. You can add or delete columns as required by clicking the Columns icon at the toolbar. 

Note: The items are displayed only if the To be received check box in RMA orders screen (go to Order/Entries/RMA orders, and then click New or Open) is selected.

Items

This column displays the code(s) of the returned item(s).

Description

Type a description for the return of the item(s). By default, the description defined in the RMA order is displayed.  

Status

This column displays the status of the returned item(s). By default, the status of the item(s) displayed is based on the Status defined for the item at the item maintenance (go to Order/Items/Maintain, select the relevant item, and then click Open), under the Basics tab.

Location

Type or select the warehouse location of the item(s) to be stored. By default, the warehouse location is displayed based on the default location of the item defined at the item maintenance (go to Order/Items/Maintain, select the relevant item, and then click Open), under the Inventory tab in the Locations per warehouse section. This information is mandatory.

Returned

This column displays the planned quantity to be returned. By default, the Return quantity defined in the RMA order is displayed.

Actuals

Type the actual quantity of the item(s) that will be returned. By default, the displayed quantity is based on the returned quantity.

Sls. unit

This column displays the sales unit of the returned item(s). By default, the Sls. unit defined in the RMA order is displayed. 

Serial/batch

This column displays “Serial item” if the item is a serial/batch item. By default, “Serial item” is displayed if the Serial check box and/or Batch check box at the item maintenance (go to Order/Items/Maintain, select the relevant item, and then click Open), under the Inventory tab in the Attributes section.

Serial/batch numbers

Type or select the serial/batch number of the selected item. By default, the serial/batch number defined in the RMA order is displayed. This information is mandatory.

Lot number

This column displays the lot number of the item. By default, the lot number displayed is based on the Lot number defined at the serial item maintenance (go to Inventory/Serial/batch/Serial, select the relevant item, and then click Open).

Resource

This column displays the resource who is in charge of the item. By default, the Resource defined in the RMA order is displayed.

Planned fulfillment date

This column displays the date the customer plans to deliver the returned item(s). By default, the Receipt date defined in the RMA order is displayed.

Project

This column displays the project code of the returned item. By default, the Project defined in the RMA order is displayed.

Button

RMA order

Click this to view the RMA order. For more information, see Creating and maintaining Return to Merchant Authorization (RMA) orders

Process

Click this to process the returned items. Once this button is clicked, you are able to print a return slip, generate and print credit note for the RMA order. For more information, see Printing Return to Merchant Authorization (RMA) order return slips.

Cancel

Click this to exit.
