Selling assets
Introduction
Assets that are no longer in use
can be sold off. It is also possible to sell or dispose assets which are written
off. To sell assets, go to Assets ➔ Assets ➔ Maintain, select the
relevant item and click Sell. You
cannot sell assets which have zero investment.
Fields
Asset
section
Item code
This displays the item code of the
asset. This cannot be edited.
Serial
number
This displays the serial number of
the asset. This cannot be edited.
Book
value
This displays the book value of
the asset. This also displays the currency code used for the asset.
Write
off
Select this check box to write off
the asset at the moment you are selling the asset. This enables the following
fields:
P&L
Type or select the profit &
loss general ledger account that records the financial entries created when
writing off an asset.
Date
Type or select the date of
the write-off process.
Journal
Type or select a journal to
record the financial entries of the write-off process.
Our
ref.
Type your internal reference
number.
Description
Type a description such as
the reason for the write-off.
Sales order
section
Ordered by
Type or select a debtor account to
whom you are selling the asset to.
Your reference
Type the reference number of the
debtor.
Description
Type the description for the sales
order.
Person
Type or select the person who is
the sales representative.
Warehouse
Type or
select the warehouse to which the asset is fulfilled. Fulfilled means that the requested asset has been
delivered to the selected warehouse.
Fulfillment
date
Type or select the fulfillment
date of the sales order.
Sales VAT code
Type or select a tax code. This is
applicable if the asset is liable for tax.
Amount
Type the amount the asset is sold
for.
Buttons
Generate sales
orders
Click this to generate the sales
order based on the specified options.
Cancel
Click this to cancel the sales process.
