Introduction

Exact Globe Next has a robust function that allows you to set your preferred settings for the point-of-sale (POS) aspect (such as the cash register) in your business.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 407 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.

How do I define the POS settings?

In the POS settings screen, define the relevant fields.
Click Save.
A message “Changes will take effect after restarting the software” will be displayed.
Click OK.
Restart Exact Globe Next.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are mandatory.

How do I edit the POS settings?

In the POS settings screen, make the required changes.
Click Save.
A message “Changes will take effect after restarting the software” will be displayed.
Click OK.
Restart Exact Globe Next.

How do I view the changes made to the settings?

In the POS settings screen, click Logbook.
The list of changes made to the settings will be displayed.
Click Close to exit.

Fields

POS section

Till title

Type the name of the cash register. You can type a maximum of 40 characters for the name.

Quantity for decimals

Select the number of decimal spaces you want to display. For example, if you select 2, EUR 9.9567 will be entered as EUR 9.96. You can set the quantity between 0 and 4.

Item text

Select this check box to enable the cash register to show the name of the item whenever the item is sold and entered by the cashier. By default, this check box is selected.

Debtor data

Select this check box to enable the cash register to show the information of a selected debtor. By default, this check box is selected.

Automatic line consolidation

Select this check box to enable the cash register to automatically record the sale of two or more identical items into one line. By default, this check box is selected.

EAN In-house

Select (None) or Nederland to determine if you want to use the EAN In-house bar code system. At present, Exact Globe only supports the Netherlands EAN In-house system. If you do not have the EAN in house bar code system, you must select None.

Link batches

Select this check box to enable the cash register to enter items that are linked by batches.

Reason for discount mandatory

Select this check box to make it compulsory for the cashier to enter a reason whenever a discount is given to a customer.

Reason for return mandatory

Select this check box to make it compulsory for the cashier to enter a reason whenever customers return items.

Stock section

Check stock

Select the required option to set the cash register to check for available stock. There are three options available:

Check: Negative stock > Warning – Select this to enable the cash register to check for insufficient stock. A report can be produced to show the insufficiency. With this option, an item can be sold if required.
Check: Negative stock > Warning > No sale – Select this to allow the cash register to check for insufficient stock and to generate a report on the stock position. This option will prevent an item to be sold if insufficiency of stock is detected.
No check – Select this if you do not want your cash register to check the stock.

Check reserved stock

Select this check box to enable the cash register to check for reserved stock too. This option is only enabled if you select Check: Negative stock > Warning or Check: Negative stock > Warning > No sale at Check stock.
