Creating and maintaining service orders

Introduction

You can create or edit service orders under E-Service contract. Service orders are created when the orders are received from the customers.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 421 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.

How do I create a new service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click New.

How do I view the power view report for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Power view. For more information, see Power view report.

How do I view the service call report for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Service call.

Keep in mind: The Service call button is enabled only if the service order is created from the Activities screen (go to Service ➔ Entries ➔ Service calls, click New or Edit, and then click Order) when an external service call is created or edited.

How do I view the note for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Note. For more information, see Creating and maintaining notes.

How do I view the attachment for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Attachment. For more information, see Viewing attached documents.

How do I view the realization details of the service order for the debtor?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Fulfilled. For more information, see Fulfilled sales orders or service orders.

How do I view the service order details grouped by item or fulfillment date?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Group.

How do I view the item management planning for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click MRP. For more information, see Overview of Material Resource Planning (MRP).

How do I return the contract items in the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Returns. For more information, see Returning contract items in sales orders, service orders, and sales quotations.

Keep in mind: The Returns button is enabled only for the new service orders with contract items.

How do I view the activities for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Activity. For more information, see Viewing activities in sales orders, Return to Merchant Authorization (RMA) orders, service orders, and sales quotations.

How do I view the details of the item in the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Item. For more information, see Creating and maintaining items.

Keep in mind: The Item button is enabled only if an item in the service order is clicked.

How do I view the linked phantom items for the service order?

  1. In the Service orders screen, click Linked charges.

Keep in mind: This button is enabled only if you have selected the Apply: Linked charges check box in the Service orders screen (click the Conditions button at the service order header under the Sales order data section).
