Installing MSXML Component, Office Add-In, and Synergy Office Integration

Introduction

Synergy Enterprise is designed to interact with Microsoft Office applications using the Office Add-in or Synergy Office Integration. On this page, you can install the Office Add-In and Synergy Office Integration, as well as install MSXML 3.0 or 4.0 components, which are needed to run the Office Add-In. The Office Add-In or Synergy Office Integration is used to upload files created in Microsoft Office applications such as:

  • documents created in MS Word
  • spreadsheets created in MS Excel
  • e-mails created in MS Outlook
  • html created in MS FrontPage, and
  • presentations created in MS PowerPoint

How do I install Office Add-In?

  1. Click Install in the Office Add-in section. The installation page will be displayed.
  2. Click Download to install.
  3. Click Run from the installation screen to install directly or click Save to save the installation file. Click Cancel to cancel the installation.
Keep in mind:
  • The process will first detect if you have the required Microsoft components: MSXML and MS Active X. If the components are not found, they will be automatically installed before the Office Add-in installation continues. Once the components are found or installed, you will get the message "Do you want to install this software?"
  • Whenever the installation of Office Add-in is successful or when you attempt to install on a machine which is pre-installed with Office Add-in, you will see the message, ‘The latest version is already installed’. You will also see the Exact Synergy Enterprise menu when you launch any of the MS Office applications.

How do I install Synergy Office Integration?

  1. Click Install in the Synergy Office Integration section. The installation page will be displayed.
  2. Click Download to install.
  3. Click Run from the installation screen to install directly or click Save to save the installation file. Click Cancel to cancel the installation. For more information, see How-to: Installing Synergy Office Integration.
Keep in mind: For the installation of Synergy Office Integration only, you can also access the installation file via System à Setup à Settings – General à Preferences. Click Synergy Office Integration in the Office: Installations section under the General tab.

Component section

MSXML 3.0

Click this to install the MSXML 3.0 component. The process will first detect if the component has been installed. If you have already installed the MSXML 3.0 component, you will receive the message, “The latest version is already installed”. However, if the component is not installed, the process will proceed with the installation.

MSXML 4.0

Click this to install the MSXML 4.0 component. The process will first detect if the component has been installed. If you have already installed the MSXML 4.0 component, you will receive the message, “The latest version is already installed”. However, if the component is not installed, the process will proceed with the installation.

Click this to install Office Add-in.

Synergy Office Integration section

Click this to install Synergy Office Integration.
