Properties

Properties are variables that can be set for an item to make it easier to search for an particular item. Properties of the same kind are grouped in a so called property group. For example the property group color with the properties black, white, red and blue.

A difference between property groups and assortments is that there is a maximum of nine property groups that can be set. There is no maximum to the amount of properties inside one property group. So in the color example you can create thousands of colors inside the property group. But inside one property group the item can only have one property, for example the item is black or white but not both. Once the properties are created, you can choose the property while creating the assortment. 

For the rental solution the properties are used to search for items and serial numbers in the availability searches;

To create a property group and property, take the following steps:

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Go to [maintenance, reference, assortments ]
• You will see the screen below.
• There is by default nine Properties Groups, that is named Category 2 to Category 10
• These property groups can be rename to you desired name
• Click on the desired category. for example "Category 2"
• Fill in the description as per the screen on the right.
• Click on "Save" to save the name.

 

 

 

 

 

• To create the properties, click on "New" as per the screen.
• Fill in the fields as per described in the table below

Group	You can select the property group which you have created earlier.
Security Level	Define what security level can have access
Order	Enter a number to determine the sequence of the property you wish to arrange
Used in: Assortment

Remarks
The Remark box here allows you to enter text on this property. You can enter a brief explanation about the property for other users reference.
