The next list of steps should be followed in order to perform a succesfull e-Synergy installation on a web server.
Creating file "Baco.cfg"
Normally the file 'baco.cfg' is created when an e-Synergy installation is finished and a database is created. However in some situations it is not required to create a new database for example when a new server is added to the network. In this case the file can be copied from another webserver. It could also be possible that the 'baco.cfg' is lost. It than can easily be created in 'notepad'. In other cases it is useful to know the contents of this file.
When creating a new 'baco.cfg' this is the minimum information required to get e-Synergy up and running. The file can be created by using 'notepad'.
When e-Synergy is installed by default an e-Synergy virtual directory is created. The 'default.asp' is linked to this virtual directory. When e-Synergy is started that points to the virtual directory 'e-Synergy' the application will search in the 'baco.cfg' for the portal section.
This section is used to define the location of the database. The 'Server' is the name of the server on which the SQL Database is stored. Instead of the DNS name also the ip address can be used. The 'Database' is the SQL name of the database as it can be seen in the SQL Enterprise Management.
It is strongly recommend not to replace the portal section by a different name. Some functionalities in e-Synergy uses this portal section by default. Replacing it could lead to improper function of some functionality.
