Chart of Account - Corporate

e-Financial allows you to create the general ledger accounts in corporate and division level.   The corporate level is for consolidation purposes, and the division level represent each division chart of account.  Hence, each division general ledger account shall link to a corporate general ledger account. 

If you are using an integrated e-Synergy and Globe2000 database only corporate ledger accounts are applicable.

For the Caterpillar rental solution a number of default accounts need to created;

- two default balance accounts

- one default profit & loss account

To create corporate general ledger account, go to Financial module [Maintenance, G/L Accounts, Chart of G/L's], you will get the following screen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you had previously created any account, the screen will display the chart of account. You can choose to expand or collapse the list by clicking on the respective button.

When you are creating new general ledger account for corporate level, make sure that under 'General' the 'Balance & P&L' box is checked. Also the 'the corporate' box under 'Report' should be checked. Click on the 'New' button on the top of the screen, you will get the following screen.

Explanation of the fields:

Fields Description Remarks
General
G/L Enter the G/L account number here This field is mandatory
Description Enter the G/L account description here This field is mandatory
Type Specify either the account is Balance sheet item or Profit & Loss item.
Debit/Credit Specify either the account is by default a Debit or Credit balance account.
Subtype Sub Type are used indicate if the account is a Debtors or Creditors control accounts.
Currency Specify if the currency exchange rate is calculated base on Average, Closing period or Historical basis.
Categories
Category 1 -10 Specify the category to be used in presenting the Chart of account. These are the Header and sub headers. You can create up 10 levels of header for a GL a/c for better presentation of  your  Chart of Accounts.   For more information on how to create the categories, click here.
