Creating and Modifying Job Titles for Contacts

Introduction

At this page, you can create, edit, or delete job titles for contacts.

Menu path

To create a new job title for contacts, go to Customers/Setup/General/Contact – Job titles, and then click New.

To edit a job title for contacts, go to Customers/Setup/General/Contact – Job titles, click the relevant hyperlink in the Job title column, and then click Edit.

Roles & rights

To create, edit, or delete job titles, function right 96 – Maintain job titles is required. Users with the HR role have this function right.

For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.

Button

Save

Click this to save the details of the job title.

Save + New

Click this to save the details of the job title and create a new job title.
Note: This button is available only if you are creating a new job title.

Edit

Click this to edit the details of the job title.
Note: This button is available only if you have selected an existing job title.

Delete

Click this to delete the selected job title.
Note: This button is available after the Edit button is clicked.

People

Click this to search for people. For more information, see Searching for People and Vacancies.
Note: This button is available only if you have selected an existing job title.

Job titles

Click this to view the list of job titles. For more information, see Overview of Job Titles for Contacts.
Note: This button is available only if you have selected an existing job title.

Competency

Click this to create or view the competency for the selected job title.
Note: This button is available only if Advanced is defined at Method under the Competency section at HRM/Setup/General/Settings. For more information, see Defining HRM General Settings.

Close

Click this to exit.

Criteria section

Code

Type a code for the job title. This is mandatory.

Note: This cannot be edited once you have saved the job title.

Description

Type a description for the job title. This is mandatory.
