For any existing item you have created in the system, you can change the item code.
Go to Logistics/Reports/Search/Items, define the search criteria, and then click Show to display the overview of items. Under the Code column, click the item code which you want to recode and then click Edit. Next, click Actions followed by Recode: Item.
To recode items, function right 221 – Allows to renumber items is required. Users with the Item management role have this function right.
For more details on what you can do with function rights or levels, go to System/Setup/Security/Function rights, select the required module, and then click on the relevant ID. To find out the functions you can perform with a particular role, go to System/Setup/Security/Roles, type in the description, click Refresh, and then click the required link under the Role column.
Click this to recode the selected item based on the new code. After you have clicked this, you will see a confirmation message to recode the item. Click Yes. Next, you will see a message that confirms the successful recoding of the item.
Click this to exit.
Type or select the item code which you want to change.
Type the new item code which will replace the old item code. This must be a unique code.
