Customizing Request Type Fields - Amount (Pricelist) & Amount (Realized - Pricelist)

Customizing Request Type Fields - Amount (Pricelist) & Amount (Realized - Pricelist)

Introduction

You can configure the Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) fields in a request type. These fields calculate and display the total amount based on the item price listed on the item card and quantity in the request.

The fields are not interactive and the user cannot edit the values displayed. However, whenever the user recalculate the amount in the Amount and Amount (Realized) fields or open an existing request containing these fields, the Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) fields are updated accordingly.

Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) depends on the settings of the Calculation section of the Amount or Amount (Realized) fields with regards to which Item and Quantity fields to take into account for the calculation. Because of this, you must also configure the relevant Amount fields and the required fields related to the corresponding Amount fields in order to use the Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) fields. The Amount fields and the related required fields are summarized in a table in Customizing Request Type Fields - Amount & Amount (Realized).

Since the price used for calculation depends also on the settings of whether to take the price of the country of the person or account in the request, the Person or Account field may also need to be configured. If you do not configure these fields, the price will be based on the price of the item in the country of the request creator. For more information on these fields, see Customizing Request Type Fields - Person and Customizing Request Type Fields - Account.

Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) are useful to compare the total amounts based on the listed price in the item card with the actual amount as entered in the request in the Amount and Amount (Realized) fields. The amounts can be different if the user has not clicked Calculate to recalculate the amount in the relevant Amount fields after updating the corresponding Quantity fields in an existing request.

Another scenario where the Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) are useful is when you enable Manual entry or disable Calculate in the Calculation section of the Amount fields. In this case, the Amount fields in the request can be different than the amount based on the listed price.

For more information on the related fields, see Customizing Request Type Fields - Item 1 & Item 2, Customizing Request Type Fields - Quantity 1, Quantity 1 (Realized), Quantity 2, & Quantity 2 (Realized), and Customizing Request Type Fields - Amount & Amount (Realized). For more information on an item and item price, see Viewing Item Cards.

Description

The following describes only the settings specific for the Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) fields. For more information on the menu path, roles and rights, buttons, and other settings available in most request fields, see Customizing Request Type Fields (Main Document).

  • Search keyword: Type "amount" in the Name box and click Refresh. Click the Amount (Pricelist) or Amount (Realized - Pricelist) field to add and configure the field in the request type.
  • Automatic label: In a generated request form, the automatic label is "Amount (Planned - Pricelist)" for Amount (Pricelist) and "Amount (Realized - Pricelist)" for Amount (Realized - Pricelist). Since the automatic label does not specify which Item field is used and whether the price is sales or purchase price, you should consider configuring the Label section in the Amount (Pricelist) and Amount (Realized - Pricelist) fields definition especially if you have both Item 1 and Item 2 fields in the same request type. For more information, see Customizing Request Type Fields (Main Document).

Note: The Edit and Mandatory sections are not available for these fields as the fields are non-interactive.
