[Depreciation, Depreciate assets]

Depreciate by

Indicate whether you want to depreciate by asset set or by asset.

Asset group

Enter an asset group or a selection of asset groups that contain the assets you want to depreciate.

Asset set

Enter an asset set or a selection of asset sets that contain the assets you want to depreciate.

Journal

Enter the journal in which the assets are depreciated.

Depreciate thru

Enter the last date on which you want to depreciate your selected asset (set).

For example, if you want to depreciate the first two months of the year and you use a twelf monthly calendar, you should enter the as date 28th February. A period defined within a calendar is depreciated if you define the first date within this period as to be depreciated. Depreciations are always generated from the period during which the last entries for the selected asset group(s) and asset set(s) were made up to and including the period you enter here, depending on the calendar you are using. This is to ensure the continudty of the depreciations.

Entry date

Enter the date you want to use as the entry date.

Depreciate

Enable 'Depreciate' if you want to depreciate the selected assets. Enable 'Undo depreciation' if you want to reverse an already performed depreciation. If you have selected 'Undo depreciation' you can enable the setting 'Make entries' to undo the depreciation in your financial accounting system as well. This option appears if you have chosen 'Process' in 'Action' and 'Undo depreciation' in 'Depreciate'.

Action

Enable 'Process' if you want to make the depreciation definite. The primary depreciations are written in Exact Finance C/S. If you have enabled the setting 'Process' you can indicate whether an entry report should be printed. Enbale the option 'Create entry report' when you want to create an entry report. If you choose 'Trial' an overview is shown of all the data entered on this screen.
