Revision of life: Asset depreciation
[Assets: Management, Revision of life]
Make a selection of fixed assets and click the 'OK' button to revise the life span of the selected fixed assets. See [Processing functions].

The general usage of this screen is explained in the System manual. However, some of the fields may differ depending on the functionality. Fields that are not explained in the System manual will be explained here.
Description
Enter a description for the revision, if necessary.
New life (Years)
Enter the amount of years as the new life span for the selected fixed assets.
New life (Periods)
Enter the amount of periods as the new life span for the selected fixed assets.
Depreciation adjustment
Enable this setting if you want to adjust the cumulative depreciation so far. If you have enabled this setting, you are asked to select when the depreciation adjustment has to be entered.
Date
Enter the date as when the life span of the selected fixed assets are revised.
Journal number: Depreciation
This setting is only available when you have enabled 'Depreciation adjustment'. Select the journal that you want to use for recording the depreciation adjustment.
Higher depreciation
This setting is only available when you have enabled 'Depreciation adjustment'. Select either {End of turnaround time} or {Extra depreciation} to adjust the depreciation of the fixed asset with a positive amount. Select {End of turnaround time} if you want to enter the depreciation adjustment at the end of the useful life of the fixed asset. If you want to enter the depreciation adjustment immediately, then select {Extra depreciation}.
Lower depreciation
This setting is only available when you have enabled 'Depreciation adjustment'. Select either {End of turnaround time} or {Extra depreciation} to correct the depreciation due to a negative revaluation. Select {End of turnaround time} if you want to enter the depreciation adjustment at the end of the useful life of the fixed asset. If you want to enter the depreciation adjustment immediately, then select {Extra depreciation}.
