Exact InterConnect provides enhanced functionality and productivity for Exact Synergy Enterprise and integration with your Exact Macola ES back office.

Pre-Configuration

There are several pre-configuration steps that should be performed in Exact Synergy Enterprise before beginning to configure InterConnect. It is not required that you perform these pre-configuration steps, however, it is strongly recommended that you complete these steps, because doing so makes the InterConnect configuration process much easier and more efficient.

  1. 21.201.481: Configure InterConnect for Macola Divisions (optional for pre-configuration)

    During the InterConnect configuration process, you need to define the InterConnect division, server, and database settings. Before you configure these settings, you must ensure that the correct back office type is specified in Exact Synergy Enterprise. Note: You need a data source set up before defining the InterConnect division. If you do not have any data sources set up, refer to document 21.882.289.

  2. 19.315.836: Define HRM Roles (optional for pre-configuration)

    InterConnect requires four roles for a variety of functions. These roles are used for viewing commissions; converting quotes to orders; and quoting. You can select any existing roles in Exact Synergy Enterprise for these functions, but it is recommended that you create new roles for these specific functions.

  3. 19.315.954: Define Various Request Types

    InterConnect uses requests for quoting, purchasing, and phone queue.

  4. 21.073.958: Define Document Categories (optional for pre-configuration)

    InterConnect creates quotes and stores them in the Exact Synergy Enterprise document module. You can also create document templates that are used to generate quotes, orders, and historical orders. During InterConnect configuration, you need to select the document groups to store the templates and documents. You can select any existing document group from Exact Synergy Enterprise, but it is recommended that you define new document groups for each required document type. You will use these documents on the OE Settings page in InterConnect Setup.

  5. 21.197.360 and 21.161.091: Define Free Fields (or user defined fields) for the Quote Process (optional for pre-configuration) You need to define the Order Entry header free fields, Order Entry line free fields, Item Master free fields, and Purchase Order header fields.

Once you have completed the pre-configuration steps in Exact Synergy Enterprise, you can configure InterConnect.

Configuring InterConnect with an Exact Macola ES Back Office

After completing the pre-configuration steps, set up and configure each part of InterConnect. You should complete the configuration steps in order.

  1. 28.206.569: Change the IIS Manager Application Pool Advanced Setting
  2. 21.201.658: (Maintenance) Basic System Configuration
  3. 21.201.481: Configure InterConnect for Macola Divisions (Unless already completed in pre-configuration.)
  4. 21.074.234: Configure Security
  5. 19.315.836: HRM Roles (Unless already completed in pre-configuration.)
  6. 21.073.958: Define Document Categories (Unless already completed in pre-configuration.)
  7. 21.197.360 and 21.161.091: Define Free Fields (or user defined fields) for the Quote Process (Unless already completed in pre-configuration.)
  8. 21.073.996: Define CRM Free Fields - There are three free fields that need to be defined in Customer Setup. Use these free fields when configuring the phone queue settings.
  9. 22.079.692: Configure Phone Queue Settings
  10. 21.201.682: Configure Quotations
  11. 21.439.246: Configure Purchase Order Settings
  12. 22.501.696: Configure Manufacturing Settings
  13. 22.501.817: Maintain Contact Roles (This can be done at any time as needed.)
  14. 22.538.004: Configure General Settings
  15. 24.148.301: Complete any Macola ES Specific Fields Maintenance for Customers (as needed)
  16. 24.148.306: Complete any Macola ES Specific Fields Maintenance for Vendors (as needed)
