Screen handling

This chapter describes the screen handling of Exact Financials. This chapter can be used as reference for daily use. It is also advisable to read this chapter carefully and keep it near you as a manual when you use Exact Financials for the first time.

General

Here the general features of the screen handling are mentioned. Next subjects will be discussed:

• Main screen
  In this section firstly the screen build up will be discussed. The structure of the menu, the title bar, the usage of favorites and recently started programs, the usage of the online manual, release notes and the status bar. See [Main screen]

• Key combinations
  Exact Financials can be operated by mouse, but by keyboard as well. In this section you will find the key combinations to navigate through the program. See [Key combinations]

Functions

In this section the features of the screen handling related functions will be discussed. Exact Financials uses general routines for one and the same type of functions for screen handling. For instance in case you ask for a report, Exact Financials will use the screen setup and handling as it is applicable for each and every report. Such general routines are available for next functions:

• Search screens 
  This section will describe the screen handling of the search screens that will be used to search and select the values of entities. 
• Maintenance functions
  Entities will be maintained (created/entered, modified and removed) by means of so called maintenance functions. This section describes the handling and setup of the screens for maintenance functions.
• Report functions
  With the report functions you can configure and store overviews by means of report layouts and also request, print and export them. Reports will be requested on base of entity.
• Processing functions
  In case you use (bulk) actions on entities, like 'en masse' removal of data (Master data or Entries), processing of entries or approval or rejection of incoming invoices, the so called processing functions will be used. This section will describe the screen handling of the processing functions.
