Before Installing Crystal Reports 8.5 Professional edition and Crystal Enterprise 8.0 Standard edition, ensure the following requirements are met:

Crystal Reports 8.5

Professional Edition

The following system requirements must be met when installing Crystal Reports 8.5:

Same as MAX GOLD Standard

The ReleaseNotes.doc file, located in the root directory of the product CD, includes a comprehensive listing of the known issues and other important notes that users should be aware of before installing Crystal Reports 8.5. It is recommended that users read this document in its entirety before proceeding with their Crystal Reports installation.

Crystal Enterprise 8.0

Standard edition

Crystal Enterprise has the following minimum installation requirements:

Full stand-alone installation (all components on one machine)

Client-side installation (client web browser)

• Same as MAX GOLD Standard

Client-side installation (Crystal Publishing Wizard)

• Same as MAX GOLD Standard

Administrator account

The account running a Crystal Enterprise installation must be an administrator of the local machine.

Network accessibility

When installing Crystal Enterprise, ensure each target machine is able to communicate with the network you've installed via TCP/IP.

Note:    The WCS supports the following web servers:

• Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 3, or higher

The Crystal Enterprise security functions do not include granting access to directories or files restricted through network security.

We recommend the simplest installation.

1) Install IIS on your MAX server.

2) The Crystal Enterprise and MAX data server should be the same server.

*Other configurations require professional services.

Crystal Service Packs
We continually review and test available service packs.

Crystal Reports 8.5
The Crystal Reports 8.5 shipped with MAX 3.7 already includes service patches. Important fixes are already included in MAX batches. 

At this time we do not recommend any Crystal 8.5 service packs. Please contact Tech Support should you have a specific issue.  

Crystal Enterprise 8.0
The Crystal Enterprise 8.0 shipped with MAX 3.7 does not include service patches. We recommend downloading and applying the available service packs.
