Exact InterConnect provides enhanced functionality and productivity for Exact Synergy Enterprise and integration with your Progression back office.
There are several pre-configuration steps that should be performed in Exact Synergy Enterprise before beginning to configure InterConnect. It is not required that you perform these pre-configuration steps, however, it is strongly recommended that you complete these steps, because doing so makes the InterConnect configuration process much easier and more efficient.
During the InterConnect configuration process, you need to define the InterConnect division, server, and database settings. Before you configure these settings, you must ensure that the correct back office type is specified in Exact Synergy Enterprise.

InterConnect requires four roles for a variety of functions. These roles are used for viewing commissions; converting quotes to orders; and quoting. You can select any existing roles in Exact Synergy Enterprise for these functions, but it is recommended that you create new roles for these specific functions.
InterConnect uses requests for sales forecasts, quoting, and purchasing.
InterConnect creates quotes and stores them in the Exact Synergy Enterprise document module. You can also create document templates that are used to generate quotes, orders, and historical orders. During InterConnect configuration, you need to select the document groups to store the templates and documents. You can select any existing document group from Exact Synergy Enterprise, but it is recommended that you define new document groups for each required document type. You will use these documents on the OE Settings page in InterConnect Setup.
You will need to define the Order Entry header free fields, Order Entry line free fields, Item Master free fields, and Purchase Order header fields.

Once you have completed the pre-configuration steps in Exact Synergy Enterprise, you can configure InterConnect.
After completing the pre-configuration steps, set up and configure each part of InterConnect. You should complete the configuration steps in order.
