Working with multiple master data descriptions

If multiple languages are used in your company, it would be preferable for each employee to be able to search for data in their own language. Whichever language each employee has chosen, data will be entered in the application language. For each separate company, it is possible to define up to five languages to be used in descriptions of master data.

• Define the languages you want to use in the system menu in [File, Company settings, General settings].
  
  
• The default language for master data descriptions is a company setting. If necessary, this can be overruled by a user setting in [File, User preferences].

Example

A company in Belgium has 20 Dutch speaking and 40 French speaking employees. In [File, Company settings, General settings], Belgian French and Belgian Dutch should be defined as master data description languages. Users speaking Belgian Dutch should use [File, User preferences] to define their language as the default language for master data descriptions. Users speaking Belgian French should use Belgian French as default language
