How-to: Installing Crystal Reports 2016

Introduction

This document provides a step-by-step guide to installing Crystal Reports 2016. Crystal Reports 2016 is supported as of product update 417.

Installing Crystal Reports 2016

You will need to have the Administrator role to install Crystal Reports 2016. The following message will be displayed when a person without the administrator role runs the setup: "Fatal Error : At least one port in the range 4520-4539 must be open for the installation to proceed. Please ensure that no application or firewall is blocking this range."

To install Crystal Reports 2016, do the following:

1. Download the Crystal Reports 2016 installation set from the Exact customer portal to the preferred system.
2. Log in as the administrator of the system.
3. Go to folder DATA_UNITS > CrystalReports and right-click on “setup.exe”, and then select Run as administrator.
4. Click Yes on the User Account Control page. The following will be displayed:



5. Select the language for the installation wizard, and then click OK.



6. Once the checking for the prerequisites has been successful, click Next to proceed.



7. Click Next again.



8. Select the I accept the License Agreement option, and then click Next.

 

9. Type the destination folder for the installation. The default directory is “C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\”.
10. Click Next.



11. Type the product key, and then click Next.



12. Select the respective check box(es) to indicate the language pack(s) that you want to install. Alternatively, you can select the All Languages check box to install all the language packs.
13. Click Next.

 

14. Select Typical or Custom to indicate the type of installation. Typical is the standard option whereby the complete Crystal Reports system will be installed, while the Custom option allows you to indicate the parts that you do not want installed. This document describes the standard installation. Select Typical and click Next.



15. Click Next to start the installation. The progress bar will be displayed to indicate the progress of the installation.



16. Once the installation is completed successfully, you will see the following:
