Installation Exact Globe Next

Introduction

This document provides information on the installation of Exact Globe Next.

Before starting the installation, take note of the following:

Before installing Exact Globe Next, you have to install the Exact Globe Next Setup wizard. If you have selected the Launch Exact Globe Next Setup option at the end of the Exact Globe Next Setup wizard (see How-to: Installing Exact Globe Next Setup wizard), the screen where you can install the Exact Globe Next components will be displayed. If the option is not available, you can start the installation via the Exact Globe Next Setup Wizard shortcut on your desktop. The following screens will be displayed.

The Exact Globe Next installation is divided into two parts, server installation and installation of each workstation that will be using Exact Globe Next. However, you can also split the installation of the server across multiple servers. The servers can be divided into a Webserver, SQL server for the database(s), reporting server to provide the dashboards, and server for Exact Event Manager. You can also specify the components that you want to install in the server.

Note: By default, one user will have the Professional role which can be used for the installation and setup of Exact Globe Next. This role is only used for the installation and setup. For the standard installation, only the standard functionalities will be supported. The additional functionalities will not be supported. If you want support for the additional functionalities and settings that are not part of the standard functionality of Exact Globe Next, you can contact the Exact sales department.

By default, all the users with the Professional role are Synergy users. This means all the users can use the standard functionality of the Exact Synergy Enterprise component of Exact Globe Next. An example of the standard functionality is creating a task, or request for leave.
