Exact Globe+ FAQ

Exact Globe+ is being rolled out in phases. When this applies to you depends on your license. The main contact of your company will be informed via an e-mail from Exact.

If you exchange backup files in the ebu-format when collaborating with your accountant, please check with your accountant for the most convenient moment to migrate to Exact Globe+, since the backup format in Exact Globe+ will be different.

If you do not exchange backup files when collaborating with your accountant, there are no changes.

It is advised to migrate when Exact Globe+ is available for your company. This ensures that you will continue to benefit from the latest functionalities and updates in the future.

Exact Globe+ offers a modern version of the familiar Exact Globe. Because the underlying technology has been completely renewed, we ensure that you can continue to rely on Exact in the future.

The brand-new interface increases the usability of the software yet allowing you to still use the same functionalities.

The functionality of Exact Globe+ is the same as Exact Globe. In time, the latest improvements and functionalities will only be made available in Exact Globe+.

For the implemented changes and improvements you can check the release notes. The future innovations can be found here: https://www.exact.com/releases/roadmap

This is possible only when Exact Globe+ is available for you.

If you are interested in participating in the controlled release for Exact Globe+, you can send an e-mail to productreadiness@exact.com.

The preparation and migration are similar to a regular update. If you have custom solutions, please contact your account manager or Exact partner.
Exact can also help you to get started with Exact Globe+. If you are interested, contact our project office at projectbureau@exact.com.

This depends on whether the other software package can be linked with Exact Globe+. We advise you to contact the supplier of that software.

If a valid maintenance agreement or a subscription license is available, the standard software will be made available free of charge. This applies to Exact Globe and Exact Business Software customers.

Since Exact Globe+ applies completely new technology, custom solutions that are developed with SDK need to be adjusted or rebuilt. For more information about the costs, please contact the developer of the custom solution.

If consultancy services are required, then additional costs are involved.

The functionality of Exact Globe+ is the same as Exact Globe. The user interface has changed. Helpful videos and E-learnings are available, providing answers to most questions.

If you would like additional support, please contact Exact or your Exact partner.

For an overview of the supported Microsoft Office versions and editions, please refer to the system requirements for the respective product updates.

Exact Globe+ is the successor of Exact Globe. All functionalities available in Exact Globe are also available in Exact Globe+, but there are some differences in Exact Globe+ compared to Exact Globe as result of using the latest technology. Read more.

We will migrate and make the building blocks (the standard custom solutions) that are on the price list* available free of charge. This is extended to you only when you have a valid maintenance agreement or a "subscription" license.

* The following building blocks are covered in the policy:

  • SE0008_BOMA - BOMA
  • SE0008_SE5143 - XML Server Advanced Logistics

Note: The building blocks with “PL” are for Polish customers only.

No. However, this can be done only for testing purposes. If you want to run Exact Globe+ in a production environment, you must uninstall Exact Globe Next.

If you have created an EBU backup file in Exact Globe Next, it cannot be retrieved in Exact Globe+ because a different method is used to pack the files. However, you can convert an EBU file from Exact Globe Next by following the steps below:

  1. Unzip the EBU file with any ZIP program.
  2. Select the MDF and LDF files that came from the EBU and merge them into a ZIP file using any ZIP program.
  3. Change the file's ZIP extension to EBU. It should now be possible to functionally read the EBU file back in Exact Globe+.

When Exact Globe+ is available for you, you can download the installation file via the Support Portal and follow the instructions to install Exact Globe+. The steps are similar to a regular update.

The installation file can also be found in the bin folder of your current Exact Globe Next or Exact Compact installation:
Exact Compact: ProductUpdater_T20.exe
Exact Globe: ProductUpdater_T25.exe

Yes, because Exact Globe+ applies completely new technology, custom solutions that are developed with SDK must be adjusted or rebuilt. For more information contact the developer of the custom solution.

The format of the XML file is identical. If ASImport is used to schedule the data exchange, the command line needs to be adjusted. For more information, see Scheduling an import function.
If an XML Topic is used that is added via SDK, it must be adjusted. For more information, contact the developer that built this solution.

The names of the program files that are used to create the scheduled tasks are different in Exact Globe+. The command line of these scheduled tasks needs to be adjusted to reflect the names of the new program files.

For more information, see the following:

In general, nothing needs to be adjusted. The Entity services in Exact Globe+ are the same as Exact Globe. It is however strongly recommended to test this before migrating to Exact Globe+.

No, the database models of Exact Globe and Exact Globe+ are the same per product update.

We can tailor a solution to best fit your business needs. You can request for customised functionalities that do not come with the standard Exact Software. There are two types of custom solutions. These are:

  • custom solutions developed on requests by certain customers, and
  • building blocks, which are the standard custom solutions that are already developed and offered to multiple customers.

You can check and verify if you have a custom solution in Exact Globe by checking your license contract. If you see the item ESL0008, ESS0008, ESM0008, or SE0008 in your contract, that means you have an existing custom solution.

This depends on the complexity of your custom solution and this must be estimated individually.

We will do our best to ensure that your custom solution functions the same way. Please note that due to new technology, there might be some limitations. If this occurs, we will assist you with the possible solutions to find the best fit.

No. Once you migrate your custom solution to Exact Globe+, you cannot use it in Exact Globe anymore.

No. We only support one version of your custom solution. You must switch all administrations to Exact Globe+.
