InterConnect for Macola Configuration: Configure Divisions for a Progression Back Office

Use the InterConnect > Setup page to configure InterConnect Division, Server, and Database settings. Also, use it to validate the connection status. Before you configure Divisions, you will need to ensure that correct back office type is specified in Exact Synergy Enterprise; this is described in steps 1 through 8.

How to Configure InterConnect for Macola Divisions

  1. In Exact Synergy Enterprise, Navigate to HRM > Setup. The HRM: Menu page opens.
  2. In the Organization section, click Divisions. The HRM: Divisions page opens.

  3. Click Show to display a list of all defined divisions.

  4. Click the division that you want to use with InterConnect. The selected division card is displayed.

  5. Click Edit to view the division card in Edit mode.

  6. Scroll down to the Back Office section of the Division card.

  7. Ensure that the Type drop-down selection accurately reflects the back office type you are working with for that division. If you are working with a Macola Progression back office, select the XML option from the drop-down list.
  8. Click Save to save the changes to the division.

  9. Click Close to close the Division card.

  10. Click Close to close the HRM: Divisions.

  11. Navigate to InterConnect > Setup. The Menu: InterConnect page opens.

    Note: If the InterConnect link is not visible, use Preferences to add it.

  12. Under the General section, click Divisions.
  13. The InterConnect: Divisions page displays a list of available divisions. Note that the Type column is populated with the back office type you specified in the HRM module.
  14. Click the Code number.
  15. Server: In the Database section enter the server name.
  16. Database: Enter the back office database number.
  17. Enabled: Select this check box to enable the division and back office connection.
  18. Click Save.
  19. On the InterConnect: Divisions page, click the Code number.
  20. The InterConnect: Division Configuration page shows the Configuration section. Use this to create the InterConnectNet user. This needs to be done only once.

  21. SA User ID: In the Configuration section, enter the SA user ID.
  22. SA User Password: Enter the password for the SA user.
  23. InterConnect User Password: Enter a password for the InterConnectNet user.
  24. Click the Create InterConnect User button. The InterConnectNet user is create on the server. The InterConnect: Division Configuration page closes.

Viewing and Editing InterConnect Divisions

The InterConnect: Divisions page displays the defined divisions. Click the division code hyperlink to view the InterConnect division details.

If the Connection status shows "Not Connected" an Edit button will be available next to the Save button. Use Edit to change the server name or database name if a database has been restored or a server has been changed.
