Calculating Production Requirements

Introduction

You can check the material requirements of production orders that are open, authorized, released, or printed through Manufacturing / Planning / Production requirements. With this function, you can list the materials required for a production order and check if there are material shortages whether in a single-level or multi-level BOM. This calculation includes only standard items and does not take into account labor hour, machine hour, or phantom items.

Description

To calculate the production order material requirements, you can define the criteria and click Display.

Filter section

Production order

Type or select the production order number to calculate the parts requirements. The description of the production order is shown next to the box. For more information, see Selecting a production order.

Make/Buy

Select Make or Buy to display the requirements for items with the selected attribute. Select All to show all items linked to the production order that have the make, buy, or both attributes.

Transactions section

Part warehouse...

Click this to select the main warehouses of the part items to include in the calculation. For more information, see Selecting warehouse. If there are warehouses selected, In use is displayed. You can include items in all warehouses by leaving the filter blank.

Explode: Maximum number of levels

Select the maximum number of BOM levels you want to include in the material requirements calculation. To include all BOM levels involved in the production order, select All.

Include: Waste

Select this check box to include the waste percentage of the BOM item in the material requirements calculation.

Show only: Shortage

Select this check box to display in the results only materials where there are shortages. If you leave this check box blank, all material requirements will be displayed.

Precision

Set the decimal precision of the requirements results calculation. You can set the precision from zero to 8 decimal.

Display

Click this to generate and display the production requirements of the selected production order according to the defined criteria. For more information, see Handling production requirements.
