This screen will be displayed when the Rates tab in the project maintenance screen is clicked. For more information, see Creating and maintaining projects and How-to: managing internal and external rates of projects. This screen allows you to view and maintain the structures for the internal and external rates linked to the project. Since the Production and Training projects cannot be invoiced, you can view or maintain only the internal rates from the corresponding project maintenance screens.
The information in this document is applicable to product update 421 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Keep in mind: The Open button is enabled only if a project is selected in the overview.
Keep in mind:
Select Internal or External to display the internal or external rates of the project, respectively. By default, Internal is selected.
The following fields will be displayed if Internal is selected at Show:
Type or select an item to display the internal rates linked to the item and related to the definition at the Person, Item, Item, Person, and/or Default: Person check boxes.
Type or select a person to display the internal rates linked to the person and related to the definition at the Person, Item, Item, Person, and/or Default: Person check boxes.
Type or select an item to display the internal rates linked to the item group and related to the definition at the Person, Item, Item, Person, and/or Default: Person check boxes.
Select this check box to display all the internal rates per project per item per person.
Select this check box to display all the internal rates per project per item.
Select this check box to display all the internal rates per project per person.
Select this check box to display all the default internal rates per person.
The overview will be automatically updated with the internal rates per item per person, internal rates per project per item, internal rates per project per person, and/or the default internal rates per person that meet the defined criteria.
Note: It is possible that not all the columns in the overview are displayed. You can add or delete columns as required. For more information, see Inserting and deleting columns.
This column displays the names of the people.
This column displays the descriptions of the items.
This column displays the costs of the items per hour.
This column displays the job titles of the people.
This column displays the cost centres.
The following fields will be displayed if External is selected at Show:
Type or select an item to display the external rates linked to the item and related to the definition at the Person check box.
Type or select a person to display the external rates linked to the person and related to the definition at the Person check box.
Type or select an item to display the external rates linked to the item group and related to the definition at the Person check box.
Type or select a reference date to display the external rates linked to the date. Leave this blank to list the external rates linked to any date.
Select this check box to display the external rates per item per person and external rates per project per item. Clear this check box to display the external rates per project per item only.
The overview will be automatically updated with the external rates per project per item per person and/or external rates per item that meet the search criteria.

This column displays the codes of the items.
This column displays the statuses of the items.
This column displays the units of measurement of the items.
This column displays the start dates of the validity period of the external rates.
This column displays the end dates of the validity period of the external rates.
This column displays the sales prices of the items defined based on the corresponding source.
This column displays the cost prices of the items defined based on the corresponding source.
This column displays the margins of the items. The margin for each item is calculated based on the following formula:
Margin % = (Sales price – Cost price) x 100 %
This column displays the sources where the external rates are based on. The sources may be from the price lists, hour item maintenance screens, or person maintenance screens.
Click this to create an internal or external rate, depending on your selection at Show. For more information, see Creating and maintaining internal rates per project per item per person and internal rates per project per item/person and Creating and maintaining external rates per project per item per person and external rates per project per item.
Click this to generate an internal rate per job level. For more information, see Creating and maintaining internal rates per job level.
Note: This check box is displayed only if Internal is selected at Show.
Click this to edit the purchase price of the selected internal rate or sales price and/or validity of the selected external rate. For more information, see Creating and maintaining internal rates per project per item per person and internal rates per project per item/person and Creating and maintaining external rates per project per item per person and external rates per project per item.
Note: This icon is enabled only when you select a rate other than the default internal rate per person.
Click this to delete the selected rate.
