Differences between Exact Globe and Exact Globe+

Exact Globe+ is the successor of Exact Globe. All functionalities available in Exact Globe are also available in Exact Globe+, but there are some differences in Exact Globe+ compared to Exact Globe as result of using the latest technology.

1. XML import and export results screen has changed, so it’s clearer to see what has succeeded and what has failed.
2. Improved error message when entering an invalid date.
3. Clearer error message when no data is found in a search.
4. All windows in Exact Globe+ now have minimize, maximize, restore and close buttons.
5. Drop-down fields show a maximum of 5 items by default, instead of showing everything.
6. Euro calculator removed in Exact Globe+.
7. Differences in hotkeys and selecting multiple records are now consistent.

Hotkeys in Exact Globe and Exact Globe+ are created automatically and due to the use of latest technology in Exact Globe+ there can be differences in the hotkey between Exact Globe and Exact Globe+. In Exact Globe following hotkeys were available:


New = Alt + W
Open = Alt + O
Copy = Alt + Y
Clear = Alt = A

In Exact Globe+ the hotkeys are as follows:


New = Alt + N
Open = Alt + P
Copy = Alt + O
Clear = Alt + L

In certain screens in Exact Globe you can select multiple records by just clicking on the record you want to select. The system would then automatically select each record you click on. To deselect the record you click the record again and the record would be deselected. In Exact Globe+ you always have to use CTRL and click on the record you want to select or deselect. This behavior is now consistent in all screens in Exact Globe+ .

8. Audit file is compressed as Zip instead of Cab.

In Exact Globe audit files are compressed using the cab format. In Exact Globe+ the audit files are compressed using the zip format. This change has no impact when sending audit files to the authorities as they except both formats.


9. Amount as text always shown on layouts.

In Exact Compact, the numerical amount written in text format was not shown on layouts. This has been changed so that in Exact Compact+ the amount as text will be shown (100 as “hundred”, for instance).


10. Searching for partial words has changed.

When you search in Exact Globe in selection screens, Exact Globe would search for the character in the first character of the full description. For example if you go to maintenance of countries. In that screen all countries are shown. If you now select the record "Afghanistan" and enter C, the system will go to Canada. If you repeat the same steps in Exact Globe+, the system will go to Antarctica as that is the first country with a C in the description. So Exact Globe searched based on first character of the description where Exact Globe+ will search in the whole description.


11. When inserting fields, sorting is now based on natural sorting order.

When you insert fields into screens in Exact Globe, the fields were sorted alphabetically based on their name. In Exact Globe+ the sorting is done alphabetically as well, but in natural order. Click here to read about natural sorting order.

12. Some user settings are saved in a different place.

In Exact Globe user settings are stored in different places:
•In the windows registry
•In the exactusr.ini
•In the exactstate.ini


In Exact Globe+ user settings are stored in the following places:
•In the windows registry
•In the exactusr.xml (this replaces the exactusr.ini)
•In the database in the table bacosettings (this replaces the exactstate.ini)


13. The magnifying glass icon to browse for data is no longer available in the menu bar. You can use the menu View > Browse instead, or press the F2 or F5 button in the respective field.
14. Date will be displayed as “YYYY-MM-DD”.
15. JPG file will not show as an attachment when added as an embedded image.
16. Message to create data prompts will be displayed after leaving the field without selecting a value.
17. Exclamation mark is not displayed when you enter invalid values.
18. Store attachment as and PDF generator settings are removed in Document settings for Exact Globe+.
19. Obsolete menu paths related to the Payroll module are hidden.
20. XBRL related buttons in Accountancy > Customer info > Finance are hidden for all the legislations except for the German legislation.
21. Azure VM: Microsoft Excel report with redirected printers.
22. Obsolete menu paths related to Lokale Schnittstellen for Germany are hidden.
23. Obsolete menu paths related to Asistente migracion PGCE2007 for Spain are hidden.
24. Menu path System > General > Returns – Aangiftebeheer for Portugal is hidden.
25. Menu path System > HR & Security > People – HR & Security Components for Germany is hidden.
26. Menu path System > Logistics > Intrastat > Copy – Intrastat copy is hidden in Exact Globe+.
27. Obsolete VAT register – Rejestry VAT Intrastat for Poland (Finance > VAT/Statistics > Rejestry i Intrastat) is hidden in Exact Globe+.
28. Menu path Finance > Entries > Data registrazione – Data registrazione for Italy is not available in Exact Globe+.
29. Menu path System > General > Countries > Import Exchange rates – Import exchange rates for Hungary and Czech are hidden in Exact Globe+.
30. “Today” string in the Telerik calendar cannot be translated by the regional settings.
31. Payroll related menu paths and functions are disabled if the Payroll license Option:35 is not available for non-Netherlands legislations.
32. Menu path Accountancy > Master data > XBRL – XBRL Taxonomy for all the legislations is hidden in Exact Globe+.
33. The report is not displayed properly due to the missing language in the license.
34. When using RemoteApp and having the second screen in Exact Globe+, the CAO wizard screen is only displayed on the taskbar when you go to Payroll > People > Collective labour agreement.

Workaround:

Adjust the settings in the RemoteApp environment.

Steps:

1. In the RemoteApp environment, run the Command Prompt in admin mode.

2. Run gpedit.msc

3. Go to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Remote Session Environment, select Use advanced RemoteFX graphics for RemoteApp at Settings, and select Disabled at Not configured.
