The new Word Merge application offers a wide range of improvements over the current merge functionality. With this new application, a new template management system has been introduced for users to manage the templates in Exact Synergy Enterprise. For more information, see Overview of Word Merge template groups and templates.Upon creating template groups, users can set access rights to limit who can use the templates under the related template group based on roles and people.
To view the overview of template groups and templates, function rights 897 – Maintain Word Merge and 898 – Allow to create Word Merge templates is required. Users with the Documents administrator role have these function rights.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are mandatory.

Click this to save the template group settings.
Click this to save the template group settings and create another template group.
Note: This button is only displayed when creating a template group.
Click this to delete the template group.
Note: This button is only displayed for user-defined template groups. Users cannot delete system-defined template groups.

Type a name for the template group. This is mandatory.
Type a short description for the template group.
Select Account, Person, Request, or Project to link a module to the template group. Only templates linked to a certain module will be displayed when a user performs a merge at the same module. For example, if a user performs a merge from a request, only templates linked to the Workflow module will be displayed.
Type or select a function right to be linked to the template group. Only a person with the selected function right will be able to edit the templates under the new group. This is mandatory.
Users can set or view access rights to the selected template group based on roles and people here. The following tabs are displayed in edit mode only.
This tab displays roles linked to the template group. Click New to link a role to the template group.
This tab displays people linked to the template group. Click New to link a person to the template group.
