Minimum local rights for Exact Globe+
Issue:
What local rights do I need on my workstation to be able to use the basic functionality of Exact Globe+?
To create databases you need extra rights on the SQL server.
Solution:
By default the Windows operating system provides the appropriate rights to use the basic functionality of Exact Globe+.
The following default rights need to be defined for a local user:
- Windows administrator rights for installing and updating Exact Globe+.
-
The default Full Control on the profile folder of the local user (example, C:\Users\[user name])
-
The default Read rights for the other Registry keys (default given by the User or Everyone group)
-
Select rights on the SQL table BEDRYF to display the companies in the Advanced window while opening a company.
-
For certain actions extra rights for SQL Server are required. For more information, How to setup security in SQL when working with Exact Globe+
- Full Control on the DOCS folder. (Default folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Exact Globe+\docs for 32-bit or C:\Program Files\Exact Globe+\docs for 64-bit)
- Making a copy of the default Exact layout requires Full Control on the ETC folder (default folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Exact Globe+\etc for 32-bit or C:\Program Files\Exact Globe+\etc for 64-bit)
- Saving the file in Exact Globe+ in any menu path wherever applicable requires Full Control on the selected folder.
- Enable the Show Term ID option in Customised terms requires Full Control for the Registry key HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\WOW6432Node\Exact\Exact for Windows\Globe.Net\
