Introduction
When entering (direct) invoices, sales orders, service
orders, RMA orders, fulfilments, quotations, purchase orders, RTV orders,
receipts, purchase returns, production issue, production receipts, production
orders, Bills of materials (BOMs), internal use, counts, and interbranch
transfers, a check would be made at the Quantity field for the presence
of measurement calculations linked to the chosen item. In addition to linking
the measurement calculation to the item, it must also be stated when
maintaining the measurement calculation data for the items, that the measurement
calculation for that item also applies to the relevant transaction category.
For example, if it is indicated that the measurement
calculation for that item only applies to the Sales orders category,
then the measurement calculation screen will not be displayed when entering an
order. The measurement calculation screen is also shown when maintaining a bill
of materials.
The following must be taken into account when importing:

The text shown in the screen is determined by the value at the
Label field in the linked formula.

If no value is entered for the formula at the
Label field,
it will not be displayed in the screen during entry.

If a label cannot be edited, the field in the screen will be grayed
out. The user cannot change the value (for example, the specific weight field
will always be the same for an item).

The value at a field is multiplied by, divided by, added to, or
subtracted from (depending on the operator) the value from the following line.

An additional comment field of 100 characters is
included in the entry screen.
The calculated number is the number calculated based on the
entered values and the operators. The calculated quantity will be automatically
filled at the default field Quantity (in the order line) when
OK
is clicked.
The data of a measurement calculation can be printed on
documents such as order confirmations, delivery notes, and invoices. During the
printing of the document, the values of all Label fields, the descriptions of
the labels, and the free fields are copied into the lines. It is also possible
to print the extra fields from the order lines and invoice lines on the
relevant layouts.
What version are you using?
The information in this document is applicable to product
update 418 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features
explained here will not be applicable.
Fields
The fields for the measurement calculations can be defined
by the user.
Formula
Assign a code to the formula. By default, the formula shown here is linked as the
default formula of the relevant item. You can only select formulas that are
linked to the relevant item.
Variables
At the top of the screen, define the variables with which
the calculation is performed. A maximum of six variables can be used. This
concerns the variables that you have specified at the Label field when
creating and maintaining measurement calculation in the Basics tab.
Behind the variable is the operator as defined when maintaining the measurement
calculation.
For example, you can use the “Width” and “Length” variables,
and the * operator.
Factor
When adding a new line (with a measurement calculation
formula) in a BOM or in the BOM tab in a production order, the
calculation control screen is displayed. The factor is shown in this screen.
The following applies:

In the measurement calculation screen, the Factor
field
shows the factor used for the calculation of the material lines in the
maintenance parts list, when entering production orders, and production orders
generated via a sales order or main production order. However, the factor
cannot be edited.

The value of the factor of a BOM line is always taken from the
value of the batch number from the planned number: the BOM maintenance.
-
With the production order entry, the value of the
factor is always taken from the planned number of the end product.
-
For production orders generated from a sales order or main
production order, the value of the material line factor is calculated using the
following formula: Planned
quantity of the product divided by the result of the * formula *.
Note: The formula is the same as the formula defined for the sales order
or main production order. If no formula is defined for the sales order or
production order, the formula from the maintenance of the calculation rule
calculation is used for the calculation.

For a bill of materials or production order line
with the condition Once per production order, the value of the factor is
always “1”.

When the batch number in the maintenance of the
bill of materials is adjusted, the values of the factors of all material
lines (with the exception of the material lines with the condition Once
per production order) are adjusted so that they take over the new batch
number. The same logic applies when the planned number of the end
product in a production order is adjusted. The values of the factors for
material lines with the condition Once per production order are not
adjusted.

With a production order that has been partially
issued, the factor can be adjusted in this screen. Based on the
following scenarios, the factor is calculated as follows:
- When the calculated number is smaller than the planned number:
- Realized: Factor = Calculated number divided
by the result of the Formula.
- To be realized: Factor = Calculated number to
be issued divided by the result of the Formula.
- If the calculated number is greater than the planned number:
-
Realized: Factor = Planned
number divided by the result of the Formula.

Extra realized: Factor
= Extra number divided by the result of the Formula.
Calculated
This displays the value calculated based on the variables.
At the bottom of the screen, you have the option to link additional information
to the calculation.
Rounding
This displays the rounded value. This is the value of the
Calculated field, but then rounded.
Remark
BBy default, the Remark field is displayed. Extra
information regarding the calculation rule can be entered at this field.
Text fields (3)
Type any additional information in the text fields. You can
define the information that is required and the number of fields (maximum
three) when maintaining
the measurement calculation.
Date field
Define the
relevant date. You can define the description that relates to the date when
maintaining the measurement calculation. You can also indicate whether or not
the field is used.
No/Yes fields (2)
This allows a
user to make a choice. You can define the description that relates to the
No
/ Yes fields when maintaining the measurement calculation. You can also indicate whether the fields
(maximum two) are used or not.
