Project manager and Hour entry roles

Exact PSA is specifically suited for organizations that do project-based work with strict requirements on flexible project management, correct hour or expense realizations, invoicing, and reporting. Explanations on PSA function rights

The following section explains the function rights available for Exact PSA:

Function right 889 – Plan hours & expenses

Users with this function right are able to view the planning of consultants, and plan hours and expenses for consultants.

The planning of hours and expenses depends on the level of the role assigned. For example, a project manager who is assigned the Hour planning role on the Division level can only plan hours and expenses for projects in his division.

For more information, see Overview of project planning.

Function right 890 – Approve project hours & expenses

Users with this function right are able to view, approve, and reject hours and expenses of consultants that have been realized or submitted.

For more information, see Overview of hours and expenses to be approved or rejected.

Function right 891 – Hour & expense invoicing

Users with this function right are able to:

  • view and invoice the hours and expenses of consultants,
  • view and create credit invoices, and
  • view and create invoicing term requests for Fixed price projects.

For more information, see Overview of billable, invoice term, intercompany, and credit invoice requests to be invoiced, Overview of credit invoices for Professional services automation, and Creating invoicing term requests.

Function right 899 – Customize person-specific project card

Users with this function right are able to customize the layout of the project card on a personal level in read-only mode.

Function right 900 – Realize hours for others

Users with this function right are able to submit hours and expenses for other consultants. The submission of hours and expenses depends on the level of the role assigned. For example, a project manager who is assigned the user-defined role (with this function right linked) on the Cost center level can only submit hours and expenses for consultants in his cost center.

For more information, see Working with hours and expenses entries.

Function right 903 – Manage deliverables/WBS

Users with this function right are able to access project deliverables and work breakdown structure-related features.

For more information, see Overview of project deliverables and Overview of work breakdown structure (WBS) lines.

Function right 1015 – Maintain rates

Users have the right to view rates (via the Rates hyperlink in the Project monitor section of the project card) if:

  • they have the Project controller role, or
  • they are the project managers and have the Project manager role.

To edit the rates via the same hyperlink, users:

  • must have the right to view the rates, and
  • have any system or user-defined role with this function right.

For more information, see Overview of project rates.
