Workflow à Setup à Requests à Request types

Introduction

You can define the flow for a request type, which is useful for directing the people in handling the sequence or the flow of a request from the start of the request till the request is completed.

Roles and rights

To define the flow of a request type, function right 5 – Create request types, and edit request types without responsible or function right 232 – Edit all request types is required. By default, users with the General manager and HR roles have the first function right while the latter is reserved for users with the Administrator role.

The information in this document is based on product update 251.

How do I create a request type?

  1. On the Workflow: Request types page, click New.
  2. On the Workflow: New – Request type page, define the fields.
  3. Click Save or Save + New to create another request type.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” are mandatory.

How do I copy the details from an existing request type to a new request type?

  1. On the Workflow: Request types page, click New.
  2. Click Copy, and then select the required request type that you want to copy from.
  3. A message will be displayed requesting your confirmation. Click Yes.
  4. Make the changes, if required.
  5. Click Save, and then Close to exit.

How do I create a request category?

  1. On the Workflow: Request types page, click Category.
  2. Define the fields.
  3. Click Save, and then Close to exit. For more information, see Creating and modifying request category.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” are mandatory.

How do I modify a request type?

  1. On the Workflow: Request types page, click on the relevant request type.
  2. Make the change(s).
  3. Click Save, and then Close to exit.
