PU 502 (Synergy): Robotic Process Automation (RPA) role is now a standard Exact Synergy Enterprise (ESE) role
Previously, you need the RPA role to use the Exact Robotic Process Automation (RPA) functionality in Exact Synergy Enterprise (ESE). However, this was a customised role that was created during the installation of RPA and did not have the normal ESE standard license role behaviours and validations. The RPA role is now a standard ESE licensed role from this product update onwards.
With this enhancement, users with a standard ESE license can add and manage the RPA role including assigning it to users or making it part of a system role. Adding or removing the RPA role will follow the standard ESE validation. Existing RPA users will still be able to work with the solution.
If you are an existing RPA user, you are advised to perform the following before updating your license to this product update since this is a change in the licensing structure:
- Make sure the RPA role (Option:512) is part of your license. You can check this at . See License information for more information on checking whether you have Option:512.
- The Enabling add-on solution role is a pre-requisite for assigning the RPA role to a user. Therefore, make sure that the Enabling add on solution role is also assigned with every RPA role. This means that the total available quantity of RPA roles is the same as the total available quantity of Enabling add-on solution roles.
