Product Updates 422, 421, and 420: Fraud prevention headers for version 3.0 improved for MTD (UK legislation)

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) department now requires the system to submit the header data for every request to their API. Effective January 2021, two new headers and a format have been issued for the parameter values of the existing fraud prevention headers.

Please make sure that your system is updated before submitting the next VAT return. Failure to comply to the new requirement by July 2021 may cause rejection from HMRC.

The new headers are as follows:

Gov-Client-Local-IPs-Timestamp

This header is a timestamp that displays when the local IPs of the clients are collected.

Gov-Vendor-Product-Name

This header displays the name of the marketed product to end users.

Gov-Vendor-Product-Name: Product%20Name
