Creating and modifying projects

Menu paths

  • Modules > Projects > Entry > Entry > Project
  • Modules > Projects > Reports > Search > Projects

Introduction

A project is usually initiated from a sales order, production order, purchase order, or internal order. Each project contains its own master data, which you can register and modify in the project card. On this page, you can create a project card. You can also opt to create a child project for an existing project.

Roles and rights

  • To view and modify a project, function right 603 — Only Visible to Member is required. By default, users with the Project administrator role have this function right.
  • To create a project or child project, function right 311 — Create, modify, delete and copy projects when the criterion for Function right 603 is met is required. By default, users with the Project administrator or Production manager role have this function right. In addition, you must be a member of the corresponding project or parent project to create a child project.
  • To modify the master data, you need to have the Administrator, Project administrator, or Production manager role. The Edit button for modifying the master data is available only if you have the mentioned roles.

Note:

  • For more details on function rights, go to Modules > System > Setup > Security > Function rights.
  • For more details on roles, go to Modules > System > Setup > Security > Roles.
