PU 502 (Globe+): Every opened company is displayed in a different screen

Note: Service pack 4 and higher of product update 502 are not generally available but it is in phased rollout.

In service pack 4 of product update 502, we have made several changes to the way Exact Globe+ opens and closes companies. These changes are only temporary for the stability of the software. From product update 503 onwards, you will be able to open multiple companies within the same user interface again.

The changes are as follows:

  • When you open more than one company in the company list panel or from the Advanced mode, each company will be opened in a different Exact Globe+ screen.

  • After you create a company at Settings > System > Create/Copy/Delete company, the new company will be displayed in a different Exact Globe+ screen.
  • The Exact Globe+ screen will be closed when you close a company.
  • When you add favourite menu paths for an opened company, only the current company’s favourites are displayed. The drop-down option is also disabled.
  • The last closed company will always be displayed when you open Exact Globe+.
  • The favourites list is based on the favourites of the last closed company. Assuming you opened both Company A that has favourites and Company B that has no favourites. If you first close Company A followed by Company B, and the next time you open Company A, the favourites will not have any menu paths listed because the favourites will be based on the favourites of the last closed company (Company B, in this case).

Notes:

  • Changes made to any options in the Settings menu are only registered by the last closed company. If you made changes in other companies and closed them while another company is still open, the changes will not be registered. This also applies when you make changes to the favourites list.
  • The last closed company will be displayed when you start Exact Globe+. If you do not want Exact Globe+ to start with the last closed company, you can start Exact Globe+ from the command prompt with the “/n” parameter. For example, you can type “C:\Program Files (x86)\Exact Globe+\bin\E6Shell.exe /n”.
