Introduction

This page allows you to create and maintain preventive maintenance types to generate one or multiple preventive maintenance requests per serial number of an item. These preventive maintenance requests are used to plan and execute preventive maintenance types for items that have been serialized or parts of items that have been serialized.

Roles and rights

To view the preventive maintenance types, function right 865 - View service preventive maintenance types is required. Users with the Service desk, Service engineer, Service planner, or Service manager role have this function right.

To edit, delete, or create preventive maintenance types, function right 885 - Maintain service preventive maintenance types is required. Users with the Service manager role have this function right.

How do I create a preventive maintenance type?

1. From the Preventive maintenance types page, click New.
2. Under the General section, define the Type and Description fields.
3. Select the Active check box to activate the preventive maintenance type.   
4. Under the Criteria section, select the Time Interval check box, and define the number of time units in the box on the right. Select the Days or Months option at the same field.
5. Next, select Previous request or Fixed schedule at Start next request.
6. Under the Service activity defaults section, define the Activity type, Activity start time, and Activity duration fields.
7. Click Save.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are mandatory.

How do I edit a preventive maintenance type?

1. From the Preventive maintenance types page, select a preventive maintenance type that you have created.
2. Edit the relevant fields under the General, Criteria, and Service activity defaults sections.
3. Click Save. 

How do I delete a preventive maintenance type?

1. On the Preventive maintenance types page, select the necessary preventive maintenance type.
2. Click Delete. A message "Are you sure that you want to delete this record" will be displayed.
3. Click OK.
