Accountancy ➔ Master data ➔ XBRL - Taxonomy
With the support for eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), it is possible to create XBRL documents in the system. An XBRL document is a digital report used for a standardized exchange of company data. It is made up of a taxonomy, which consists of the reporting standards and an XML file with data. Hence, before you can create an XBRL document, you should select a taxonomy and then link the general ledger (G/L) accounts to the taxonomy codes using the XBRL mapper. Once the mapping is done, you can create an XML audit file in which the taxonomy standards are included, or you can view the XBRL balance.
At the toolbar, you can do the following:
Click this to import the taxonomy. The Taxonomy files screen will be displayed. In this screen, you can select to import the taxonomy file from a local XSD file and browse the file location, or import a predefined taxonomy from the Internet. Click OK to import the taxonomy or Close to exit.
Click this to search for the G/L accounts or taxonomy based on the keyword you typed in the blank field on the Search screen.
Click this to open the Help screen to access the help files. Once you have imported the taxonomy files, you can select the taxonomy that you want to map to the G/L accounts.
On the left column, the general ledger accounts will be displayed based on the defined criteria.
Select the required criteria to display the G/L accounts. The following are the available options:
Note: The Proposed and Linked/Proposed options will be available depending on the selected taxonomy. For example, if you select the predefined NL taxonomy, you will see the Proposed and Linked/Proposed options in General ledger accounts.
On the right column, the selected taxonomy and its associated taxonomy codes will be displayed.
Click this to delete the selected taxonomy.
Click this to open a taxonomy file.
To link the G/L accounts to the specific taxonomy codes, drag the G/L account in the left column to the taxonomy code that you want to link to in the right column. Once you have linked a G/L account to a taxonomy code, you will see a blue line connecting the two.
Click this to display the G/L accounts and/or taxonomy codes based on the defined criteria.
Click this to create the proposed links between the G/L accounts and taxonomy codes. The G/L accounts and taxonomy codes with proposed links will be displayed in orange. To view the exact proposed link, click the G/L accounts displayed in orange and you will see an orange line connecting the G/L account to the proposed taxonomy code. To make actual links based on the proposed links, drag the proposed G/L accounts to the proposed taxonomy codes and the orange line will turn into a blue line.
Note: This button will be available depending on the selected taxonomy. For example, if you select the predefined NL taxonomy, you will see this button.
