What to do when the message "You do not have permission to use this option" appears while working with Progress Data Administration?

Solution

This message occures when a setting called "Disallow Blank Userid Acces" is activated on a Progress Database (Via Admin - Security). This setting is irreversible. The only way to change this is to connect the database with a userid. Connecting the database with a userid can be done via a -U parameter (in the .pf file or via the connection information).

Another possibility is running _prostar.p via the Procedure Editor. This procedure allows you to acces the database with a userid.
